Spring - Easter Banner🌷
A Nancyfangles Whimsical Creation A sweet, colorful way to welcome Easter, Spring, or simply add a little joy into your home. I just love this time of year… Every time I step outside my door, I am filled with that quiet awe that spring always seems to stir in me. It seems there is a new flower blooming everyday, and a new color representing the magnificent colors of God’s amazing paint pallet. One day there are Daffodils (otherwise known as march flowers), and the next there are crocuses slipping in like little jewels, a few days after that, the aroma of hyacinths perfume the air. And then as if overnight, the Bartlett Pear trees light up the sky line with petals of white, as if they are erupting into popcorn clouds. It’s a whole symphony of color and renewal. How can I not be inspired to welcome spring with colorful creations, reflections of what I see, how I feel, and the celebration of re-birth. This little project began with nothing more than a handful of colorful paper ducks and bunnies, but it quickly blossomed into a full spring banner as I kept creating. I had a general idea in mind, but a few clever suggestions from my kids along the way helped shape it into the cheerful, color-filled piece it became. And the best part is that you don’t have to commit to making an entire banner. Each individual piece works perfectly on its own as a one-of-a-kind spring greeting - ready to hang, gift, or pop in the mail to brighten a friend’s day. And what a cute decoration for a baby shower too! I hope you will enjoy creating them as much as I did. Here’s how I made them! Supplies: • Cookie cutters in spring shapes (bunnies, ducks, etc.) • Assorted colorful craft paper • Neutral heavy card stock for the banner rectangles • Clear, quick-drying glue • Assorted trim • Miniature paper or fabric flowers • Embossing machine (optional) • Scissors • Pencil • Bric-a-brac • Glitter • Inexpensive paint brush • Hole punch • Small sequins for eyes or flower centers (optional) Instructions:🐇 1. Trace your cookie cutters onto the back of your colorful craft paper. 2. Cut out your bunnies, ducks, and other spring shapes. 3. Cut your neutral card stock into even rectangles. • Mine are 4¼ × 5½ inches. 4. Punch two holes at the top of each rectangle for hanging. 5. Glue your spring shapes onto the rectangles. 6. (Optional) Run each piece through an embossing machine. • This adds beautiful texture and gives the pieces a quilt-square feel. 7. Glue trim around the sides and top of the rectangle. 8. Cut strips of green paper for “grass,” snipping along the top edge for texture. 9. Glue the “grass” to the bottom of the rectangle. 10. Glue your miniature flowers to the grass. 11. For extra charm, glue white puffy flowers onto the bunnies’ tails. 12. Add sequins or tiny jewels for eyes and flower centers. 13. Using a paint brush, apply a very thin layer of glue to the background and sprinkle lightly with glitter for a soft sparkle. 14. Thread bric-a-brac through the top holes to assemble your banner. Want to Make Just One? Create a single panel to hang alone or give as a card: • Thread a piece of ribbon through the holes • Tie into a bow • Gift or display with joy Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Happy, Happy Everything!
